I just got off the phone with my friend in PA who was a die hard Clinton supporter. He couldn't get over her loss. Since the primaries ended, all he could talk about when we talked about politics was that if Obama didn't pick Clinton as his running mate, he was voting for McCain.

Nothing I said helped. Not that our country was in deep shit and voting for McCain would continue the disasterous policies of the Bush administration. More wars, more people going with healthcare, more jobs getting shipped overseas, more people losing their homes and on and on.
We talked about all of it. And nothing I said mattered. "He better pick Hillary" said my friend. Or else.
It was getting to a point where I wondered if I could stay fiends with him.
Well, he's been watching the convention all week. Thought Michelle was fabulous. Thought Hillary was incredible. Loved Bill Clinton -- and said he was now "on board" with Obama.
I burst out laughing, so happy I almost cried. "What convinced you," I asked.
"The Clintons, what do you think?" he answered. "They were sincere, and they convinced me."
I think I'll keep him as my friend afterall.
Wanted to share this good news with you all.
Here's to more people getting "on board!"
